PAST EVENT: Barnes & Noble Fundraising Book Fair
On Saturday, April 14, 2018, Mirage held an in-person Book Fair event hosted by the Barnes & Noble Poughkeepsie location. We had special performances (including excerpts from our play, Distant Survivors; a musical performance; and a talent showcase of Vassar College students presented by The Underground). Our recommended books were also on display along with copies of our very own published play, Distant Survivors. Our very own custom drink was served at the Cafe.
For those that could not join the in-store event, they were able to participate at ANY B&N store or on BN.com using a unique Book Fair ID at checkout. A portion of proceeds from the Book Fair benefited our non-profit arts organization! See BN.com/bookfairs to host your own book fair fundraiser.

PAST EVENT: Art Fundraiser in support of "Broken Dolls"
On February 16, 2018 (the Lunar New Year of the Dog), we hosted a very special evening of art and learning at the community-centered art gallery, Chinatown Soup (16 Orchard St. NYC). We were proud to present local artists, including Shanequa Benitez, Casandra Maniotis, Margaret Reid Boyer; photo-journalist, Amy Kaslow; and activist/performer, Jamnopeanut. We recognize that artists, journalists and activists are typically the first of us silenced by those who are in power based on a platform of fear, ignorance and hatrid. We were reminded that art, education and dialogue rooted in compassion and love is needed now more than ever in our communities.
Funds raised through the sale of art and contributions will go towards the commissioning of our next play in development, Broken Dolls, which will tell the stories of women trafficking victims and survivors.
