The Mirage Theatre Company production of Distant Survivors at the Jewish Community Center of Dutchess County/Hudson Valley Community (JCCDC/HVCC) was a tremendous success. We performed before full houses both nights and the audience response was terrific. Here are a few of the comments we received:
"Such a moving experience...I feel that my family has to see this...everyone has to see it" Doris Schafer, Mission Team Leader for Social Ministry, St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church
"I thoroughly enjoyed Distant Survivors. At times I felt I was on the stage with the characters. Thank you for this wonderful experience." Marcy Thorn
"We were honored that you allowed us to participate in this great production." Rabbi Hanoch Hecht, JCCDC/HVCC
"In Distant Survivors, I was struck by the horror that hatred can perpetrate. It is a very well written piece which lovingly yet painfully adhered to each character's torment and ultimate bravery." Catherine R. O'Brien
"Mirage Theatre's production of Distant Survivors not only honors those who perished at the hands of the Nazis, but also anyone who struggles today to understand how a civilized society can reach such depths of horror." Alan Goldsmith, Manager of Senior Programming, JCCDC/HVCC
We would like to especially thank all of you who who supported the production of Distant Survivors with your generous contributions.
